The WILD Practice System

Most settings supporting young people outside mainstream education are holding their practice together with spreadsheets, shared folders and the memory of whoever has been there longest. The WILD Practice System replaces that with one way of working, one place to record it, and one route for developing the people doing it.

The human side

Why we built it

Wild Minds is a working provision before it is a software company. The Portal exists because the people running it were losing evenings to paperwork that should have taken minutes, and losing the hours that belong to their families and to the young people in front of them.

Every hour the Portal saves on registers, chasing, re-typing and assembling evidence is an hour that goes back where it belongs: to practice, to people, and to the things that do not fit in a spreadsheet.

Three parts, one practice

The methodology

The WILD Framework™

A practice framework for working with children and young people whose needs are not met by mainstream settings. Wellbeing, Interaction, Learning and Development give every plan, session and review the same language.

The software

The WILD Portal

The day-to-day system your team actually works in: register and attendance, session records, learner plans, safeguarding, compliance and reporting, all written against the Framework.

What the Portal does

The professional learning

The WILD Academy

How practitioners learn to apply the Framework properly, with written work assessed and signed off, and a record of levels and certifications that belongs to the person.

If this sounds familiar

These are the things settings tell us before anything else.

Attendance is chased by email and confirmed the following week.

Marks are taken live and referrers and families are notified the same morning.

Evidence is assembled by hand the week before a review.

Session records are written against the Framework, so evidence accumulates as you work.

Safeguarding lives across a form, an inbox and someone's notebook.

One concern log with immediate alerts to your DSL and a chronology that cannot be quietly edited.

Every new member of staff writes notes in their own style.

One shared language across plans, sessions and reviews, taught properly through the Academy.

Leaders rebuild the same spreadsheet every term for commissioners.

Attendance, engagement and progress indicators are already in one place.

Nobody is certain which policy version is the current one.

Policies with review dates and an inspection-ready pack exported as a single document.

Who it is for

Alternative provisions

Small and growing AP settings that need one system for attendance, session records, plans, safeguarding and commissioner reporting instead of five spreadsheets.

SEND and specialist settings

Settings supporting learners with EHCPs, high anxiety, trauma or complex needs, where individual plans and regulation support matter as much as timetables.

Community groups and charities

Organisations delivering to referred young people who need credible safeguarding records and evidence of impact for funders.

Schools commissioning AP

Schools and local authorities who want live attendance and progress information about the learners they place, without chasing emails.

Train your team

Start with professional learning so your staff share one way of working, whether or not you take the software.

Train your team

Not sure which part you need?

Plenty of settings start with training, and add the software once their team shares one way of working. Others need the records sorted first. Tell us where you are and we will be straight with you about what would help.
