The WILD Portal · Powered by The WILD Framework™
The methodology
The Framework is the practice underneath everything else, a shared way of working with young people whose needs are not met by mainstream settings, built around wellbeing, interaction, learning and development. Organisations can licence it on its own, or with the Portal and the Academy.
The portal is not a generic management system with a badge on it. Every session record, plan, review and report is written against the same framework, so what a coach types on a Tuesday afternoon becomes the evidence a commissioner reads at the end of term.
Personal development, emotional wellbeing and self-regulation
Check-ins, regulation strategies, workbooks and reflective session notes.
Outdoor education, movement, health and healthy living
Walks, physical challenges, nutrition and sleep conversations.
Practical and vocational skills for work
Animal care, horticulture, construction, hospitality and enterprise tasks.
Independence and daily living
Cooking, money, travel training and household skills.
Preparation for adulthood and next steps
Careers, work experience, applications and supported internships.
The same four headings shape student plans and staff supervision, so the language is consistent across the whole provision.
W
Wellbeing
Regulate first. Nothing is learned until a young person feels safe.
I
Independence
Do it with them, not for them — skills that transfer beyond the provision.
L
Learning
Small, evidenced steps recorded against the pathway, not just attendance.
D
Direction
Every plan points somewhere: a destination, a qualification, a next step.
Progress is recorded in small, evidenced steps rather than grades, suitable for learners who are not yet accessing formal accreditation, and still meaningful to a commissioner.
Emerging
Needs consistent adult support; engagement is beginning.
Developing
Participates with prompting; strategies used with reminders.
Securing
Consistent engagement; uses strategies with little prompting.
Embedded
Independent and transferring the skill to new settings.
